Yuck Cold, Hope My Eggs Don't Bust, & Possum Too

Well it was spring for a week and now it's winter again. I quess it's redbud winter since our trees are blooming. I have left 6 eggs each in two nests in the chicken house since early last week and now it has turned cold and I sure do hope they stay warm enough not to freeze and bust. I have my heart set on new baby chicks.  And on another note, we keep having a possum visitor at night who comes to eat our cat food, but guess what...I opened the door the other morning and guess who was visiting in broad daylight for breakfast. Yep, Mr. Possum... or Miss? It even stayed around long enough for a picture and a few more bites. And while it was eating there were 2 of my cats napping in a chair on the porch not 5 feet from the possum. Here's a pic of Mr/Miss Possum too.

Etsy Work Time

I have been working on my etsy store tonight and I hope it will all be worth it someday. I have a hard time making time to be on the computer when it is so pretty outside like it was today. I just wanted to be outside in the sunshine and the last thing I wanted to do was go inside and get on the computer, so I put it off all day until just a few minutes ago. I hope to do some more tonight if I don't give out. Here is my newest listing.

Spring Sunshine

Today was a beautiful spring day here. Spring is a beautiful season that means a rebirth to the earth and I can just smell the new in the air. I am in love with Spring and all it brings. I am alive again. I sat in the sun with my pant legs rolled up and my sleeves pushed up my arms to my shoulders and I turned my face up to the sun and felt its warmth and I was so happy and so content. God is so good. You may have winters in your life but have no fear... Spring is coming. I have added a picture of a recycled window that I mosaiced that hangs on my porch. The light is so pretty shining thru it. Happy Spring.

Crazy Egg

Ok so ever once in a while we get a really strange looking egg from our laying hens. Now is one of those times. I always get such a kick out of it. I think it is really a very neat thing. And YES I have included pictures. I put one of their regular shaped eggs next to the strange egg. This time it was elongated. Once we had one that looked like it had a waistline tied up in the middle. It has rained ALL DAY, so maybe our hens were not to happy to lay today. I don't blame them.








Ha Ha "The long and short of it"......oh and by the way the background in these pictures is my mosaic coffee table that I made.

Etsy Today, Couponing Tomorrow

Hi all, spent this cold day indoors working on my etsy shop which is at http://www.CarlaRaeVintage.etsy.com/

Clean Yard, Cold Sunday

We had some nice days this past week, warmer temps and sunshine so I have been cleaning out my flower beds of the winter leaves and dead stuff. The green is starting to show, my easter flowers are up good and today when hubby and I went for a ride I actually saw some blooming...but.. it was cloudy all day and never got over 40 degrees. YUK!!! I am wishing for lots of sunshine tomorrow. And since I am dreaming of a summer garden I am posting a few of my last summer garden pics. COME ON SPRING.
