Goodbye Old Dog

How do you mend a broken heart? Time. It is the only way. I have a broken heart. Yesterday my sister's old 12 year old boxer dog died. He may have been hers but we live on the same farm only a little ways apart and I think he was my dog too. He came by my house every morning and stood looking in my front door and waited for his "cookie" dog treat. Sometimes I didn't see him at first, but my dogs always let me know he had arrived. I loved him. We all did. There is a whole farm neighborhood here that is hurting. 

But there is no way around it. Our pets will never live as long as we do. We can only enjoy them for awhile. They bring SO much joy and love into our lives everyday and then they are gone. But I would not trade one day of knowing them because their love is so unconditional. They love us no matter what. I think Jesus made our dogs that way on purpose. He knew that's what we needed from them. A companion who loved us always and no matter what.

Thank you Jesus for the pleasure of knowing such a sweet gentle old dog. It was a blessing.

Happy New Year to everybody. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the new year. All is quiet on my home front. It has been cold here and as you know I am not a winter person so I have been huddled inside next to the heat. I recently discovered Pinterest and so far it has taken up some of my time. I just see so many things on there that are such great ideas. I thought that after Christmas I should take time to get a little more organized...but...so far...well you know I had good intentions. lol...Anyway...

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to pop in to tell everybody Merry Christmas before it gets any more crazy. It has been a hectic year and I plan on working on this blog big time after the first of the year. Big plans are brewing. Oh, and I am now on pinterest too, so come on ever there too. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with love.

I am adding a few pictures of things I am working on which I have on Etsy, but I will see you all in a new way after the new year.

Cooler Weather

Can you feel fall in the air yet? OK so I am not ready to give summer up completely but I do feel it in the cool morning air. So to remind myself that I am not giving it up I decided to post a few of my summer garden pictures. Happy Gardens to you all.

Summer Fades

Summer is fading somewhat here in Western Kentucky. A few cooler nights but still warm days. I am really not a fall or winter person but I am looking forward to a little cooler weather. Today is the last day of August so I guess I better be ready for summers end. lol

Vintage is selling ok for me on Etsy but I am itching to do some handmade crafting using some of the bits and pieces of vintage I have been saving. I am cleaning my craft room and I am WORN out. The piles are slowly going down. At this rate maybe I will see daylight next week. lol

It's HOT

This has been one of the hottest summers in a long long time. Or maybe it's just me? No everybody says so. But we have had lots of rain so at least the garden is still thriving. The swimming pool has been used alot and the AC too. I hope you all are gardening even in the heat and remember to buy VINTAGE.
